I am sure my grandmother is very pleased with the dignity and care given for her final goodbye. The celebration was uplifting and flawless and my family and I will be forever grateful.

Emma Joyce Taylor, 80, of Mt. Washington, passed away on Sunday, March 4, 2018. She was the former Emma Hardin, a native of Taylorsville, and member of Bethany Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Truman "Tommy" Taylor; her parents, Newt and Pearl Hardin; Her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Truman and Allvia Taylor; sisters, Anna Hicks (Charlie), Ethel Morris (Arnold), and Louise Chissom (Johnny); brother, Cleo Hardin; and brothers-in-law, Robert Cecil, Dee and Estill Taylor; sister-in-law, Alice Bartley. Emma is survived by two children, Jerry Taylor and Vickie Hogue (David); one sister, Betty Cecil; sisters-in-law, Doris Hardin and Ruby Taylor; her beloved granddaughter, Nikki Dakin (Micah); along with a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Bethany Baptist Church with burial to follow in Highland Memory Gardens. Friends may visit from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at McFarland-Troutman-Proffitt Funeral Home and after 9 a.m. Thursday at the church. Memorial gifts are suggested to the Alzheimer's Association.
