Merigay Campbell Chancellor Small

Merigay Campbell Chancellor Small, 67, of Mt. Washington, passed away on Friday, December 14, 2018 at St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington.  Merigay was a 1969 graduate of the old Mt. Washington High School, graduate of the University, of Kentucky, and obtained her master's degree from the University of Louisville.  She was a retired teacher with the Bullitt County Public School System, Warren County Public School System, and a substitute teacher for Assumption High School.  She was a member of Salt River DAR Chapter, the Kentucky Retired Teachers Association, and First Baptist Church of Mt. Washington.  Merigay was an avid UK fan, a member of the UK Alumni Association, and a Kentucky Colonel.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Ves and Marianna Campbell Chancellor.  Merigay is survived by her loving husband, Steve Small; two daughters, Heidi Cantrell (John) and Meri Catherine Blair (Eric); three brothers, David (Susan), Tim (Bonnie), and Colin "Coney" (Becki) Chancellor; one sister, Molly Armstrong (Tim); three grandchildren, John Joe (Lauren), Cooper, and Jackson; along with a host of nieces, nephews, and many friends.  Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church of Mt Washington with burial to follow in Highland Memory Gardens.  Friends may visit from 1 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at McFarland-Troutman-Proffitt Funeral Home and after 10 a.m. Thursday at the church.  Memorial gifts are suggested to be made to the Merigay Chancellor Small Memorial Scholarship Fund.
