My family and friends were please with the exceptional service we received from a very professional and considerate staff. Everything was organized and well presented. I don’t think my mother could have asked for a better service.

Vena P. Settles, 72, of Irvington, KY passed away on Sunday, December 31, 2017 at Hardin Memorial Hospital. She was the former Vena Sweazy, a native of Spencer County, KY, and a member of Tabernacle of Worship in Brandenburg, KY. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Anthony Settles; her parents, Roscoe and Annie Edith Sweazy. Vena is survived by five children, Luann Stoner, Joseph Michael Bishop, Susan Renee Potts, Otho James Settles, and Charles Ray Settles; siblings, Dorris Tindle, Martha Riley, Pam Anderson, and Timmy Cheek; along with 27 grandchildren, including her grandson, Anthone Scott Settles, whom she raised; and 66 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Thursday at McFarland-Troutman-Proffitt Funeral Home with burial to follow in Maple Grove Cemetery in Bloomfield, KY. Friends may visit from 12 p.m. until time of service on Thursday.
