I am sure my grandmother is very pleased with the dignity and care given for her final goodbye. The celebration was uplifting and flawless and my family and I will be forever grateful.

Zelda Rose Yancey, 84, of Louisville, returned to the Lord on Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at the Hosparus Inpatient Unit. She was the former Zelda Rose Atkinson, former secretary and longtime member of Highview Baptist Church, and a current member of First Baptist Church of Mt. Washington. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, crafts, and anything to do with spending time with her beloved grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Martin Yancey; along with two siblings, Fred Cook and Beverly Cook Norene. Zelda is survived by two sons, Mark (Paula) and Martin (Lisa) Yancey; two daughters, Pamela Kay Rogers (Carl) and Parri Elizabeth Louise Das (Suresh); twelve grandchildren, Jamie, Rebecca Erin, Sharaleigh, Beth, Amy, Philip, Emily, Evan, Nicholas, Daniel, Rebekah and Victoria; "five Texas grandchildren", Johnny, Jessica, Holly, Meredith, and Alyssa; along with a growing host of great grandchildren. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, September 1, 2018 at McFarland-Troutman-Proffitt Funeral Home, Mt. Washington with burial to follow in Highland Memory Gardens. Friends may visit from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday and after 9 a.m. Saturday. Memorial gifts are suggested to Heart of My City, Inc., Bullitt County's Homeless Ministry.
