I am sure my grandmother is very pleased with the dignity and care given for her final goodbye. The celebration was uplifting and flawless and my family and I will be forever grateful.

Emma Catherine Lawson, 74, of Cox's Creek, passed away Saturday, December 30, 2017 at her home. She was a past member of the Thixton Lane Church of Christ and a former employee of Walmart in Fern Creek. She was preceded in death by her husband, Verl Lee Lawson; a son, William Thomas "Billy" Crawford; a brother, Charles Walter Green; her son-in-law, Bobby Ryan; along with a sister, Mary Louise Mudd. She is survived by a son, Verl Lee Lawson, Jr. (Marcy); two daughters, Lawonna Kay Lawson and Cathy Ryan; a brother, Doug Green; three sisters, Rosetta Green, Betty Jean Fawbush, and Marie Ware; seven grandchildren, Natosha, Shelby, and Charles Pearson, Christopher and Christy Ryan, and Courtney and Cody Lawson; along with four great-grandchildren, Hayden Pearson, Bentley Ray Lewis, and Kendall and Adley Ryan. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at the McFarland-Troutman-Proffitt Funeral Home with burial to follow in St. Michael's Cemetery, Fairfield. Visitation will be 3-8 p.m. Wednesday and after 9 a.m. Thursday.
