William C. Cutler, Sr.

William C. "Bill" Cutler, Sr., 83, died Monday, January 8, 2018 at Baptist Health in Louisville.  Mr. Cutler was a native of Macon, GA, where he was born on June 19, 1934.  He graduated from Lanier High School for Boys and Auburn University, a place he felt dear to his heart.  His business career was spent mostly in Macon in mortgage and commercial banking. In 1996, he retired as Executive Director of Macon-Bibb Housing Association.  He was active in many community and volunteer organizations throughout his business career. He participated in Macon Chamber of Commerce, Macon Downtown Lions Club functions, and was a member of Idle Hour Golf and Country Club, an the Macon Elks Lodge. He was a member of the Kappa Alpha Order.  He was preceded in death by his father, John M. Cutler, Jr.; his mother, Marie Louis Callaway Cutler Griffith; his stepfather, Arthur Griffith, Sr.; and brothers, Col. John M. Cutler and Duncan Brown Cutler.  Bill is survived by a son, William C. "Cal" Cutler, Jr. (Terry); a granddaughter, Layne C. Cutler; along with several nieces and nephews.  Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Friday at Highland Memory Gardens in Mt. Washington, KY. McFarland-Troutman-Proffitt Funeral Home was entrusted with the arrangements.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Methodist Epworth by the Sea, 100 Arthur J. Moore Dr., St. Simons Island, GA 31522.
